Dr. Zeeshan Butt is a licensed clinical psychologist who supervises clinicians at Garden Health Group. He earned his PhD in clinical psychology from Case Western Reserve University, completed his internship in health psychology at Rush University Medical Center, and has been licensed in Illinois since 2010.

Supervision and teaching have been central to his career. He has supervised doctoral students in transplant psychology and consultation-liaison psychiatry, taught a graduate seminar on diversity in clinical care at Northwestern, and was twice named Outstanding Teacher at Feinberg. As a second-generation South Asian immigrant, he brings particular attention to how cultural identity and family expectations shape what happens in the therapy room.

At the end of the day, effective psychotherapy is focused on how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors sometimes support (and other times get in the way of) our goals. Much of the work, in therapy and in supervision alike, is understanding what a person's goals are, what motivates those goals, and then helping build the skills to reach them. Dr. Butt engages with the next generation of therapists to foster these skills.
