Lanna Carroll Goodman, PsyD, MSW

Clinical Psychology Fellow, Master of Social Work

Dr. Goodman is a postdoctoral fellow with Garden Health Group. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Iowa, and her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Adler University in Chicago.

Dr. Goodman’s clinical experience spans the lifespan, including child and adolescent therapy, family treatment, adult therapy, and geriatric care. She has provided Adlerian play therapy, individual and group therapy, and comprehensive assessment and psychological testing across diverse settings, including schools, community mental health, residential programs, long-term care facilities, and inpatient hospital settings.

Her approach to psychotherapy is client-centered, emphasizing a strong therapeutic alliance to meet individuals where they are. Dr. Goodman incorporates trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices, using evidence-based techniques drawn from Adlerian therapy, family-systems therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Dr. Goodman offers treatment in areas such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, interpersonal difficulties, substance use disorders, and life transitions.
